Don't Blink or You'll Be Obsolete
SPOKANE, Washington (April 6, 2010) – Inland Northwest Chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-NW) to host Entrepreneurial Program Series with featured speaker Priscilla Bell, Ph.D., "Don't Blink or You'll Be Obsolete," May 13, 2010, at the Greenbriar Inn in Coeur d’Alene, ID.
Fueled by instantaneous communications, daily creation of new knowledge, and increasing globalization, rapid and dramatic change is becoming the norm in the world today. Educators, business owners, and society as a whole must recognize this new reality and be prepared to respond to it. Now, perhaps more than ever, community colleges are important partners as you develop a well trained and educated workforce prepared to succeed in the world of change.
The featured speaker is Priscilla Bell, Ph.D., president of North Idaho College (NIC). Prior to joining NIC, Bell was president of Highline Community College in Des Moines, Washington, from 2000 to 2006 and served as the president of Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, N.Y., from 1995 to 2000. Bell also served in various roles at Tacoma Community College for more than 17 years. Bell has taught various classes throughout her career and has served on several national boards and committees. She serves as a member of the boards of directors for the North Idaho College Foundation, Opera Coeur d’Alene, First Judicial District Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Jobs Plus, the economic development corporation serving Coeur d’Alene and Kootenai County.
For nearly 15 years, members of the Inland Northwest Chapter of NAWBO have worked to propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide. "Generous women in every stage of success share experience, challenges and resilience," says Diane Maehl, Owner of Diane Maehl Photography, speaking about why she joined NAWBO-NW. The Entrepreneurial Program Series is designed to help women in business meet the challenges of starting, running and maintaining a business in today’s marketplace, and the Series is presented during NAWBO-NW monthly chapter meetings.
NAWBO-NW meeting is open to all women business owners. Join us May 13, 2010 at the Greenbriar Inn in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Networking begins at 5:30 pm, dinner and presentation to follow at 6:00 pm. Cost is $35 with RSVP prior to noon May 11; $40 after noon May 11. Walk-ins welcome. For more information or to register, visit www.NawboNW.org or call Karin Kasinger at 509-481-3357.
