Women's Voices, Women's Votes: Celebrating Women's History Month

SPOKANE, Washington (February 22, 2011) – Inland Northwest Chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-NW) to host Entrepreneurial Program Series with featured speakers Marsha Rooney and Rose Krause, "Women's Voices, Women's Votes: Celebrating Women's History Month," March 10, 2011, at The Lincoln Center in Spokane, WA.

Join us as Marsha Rooney and Rose Krause from the MAC, show highlights and share insights from "Women's Voices, Women's Votes", the current grant-funded exhibit that celebrates the invaluable contributions of women in Washington’s history.

Although some women were still excluded, most Washington women won the right to vote in 1910. As the fifth state in the union to enact such legislation, Washington’s action was pivotal in revitalizing the national women’s suffrage movement, which in 1920 ensured women’s voting rights nationwide. Women have used this suffrage as a springboard to achieve a voice in many aspects of public life up to the present.

For 15 years, members of the Inland Northwest Chapter of NAWBO have worked to engage women business owners in a lively exchange about what can make us wildly successful, and to invigorate our community by influencing policy and supporting events that sustain women business owners. The Entrepreneurial Program Series is designed to equip women in business with experience and wisdom to help meet the challenges of starting, running and maintaining a business in today’s marketplace. The Entrepreneurial Series is presented during NAWBO-NW monthly chapter meetings.

NAWBO-NW meeting is open to all women business owners. Join us March 10, 2011 at The Lincoln Center in Spokane, WA. Networking begins at 5:00 pm, dinner and presentation to follow at 6:00 pm. Cost is $34 with RSVP prior to noon March 8; $39 after noon March 8. Walk-ins welcome. For more information or to register, visit www.NawboNW.org or call Jeanette Fairless at (509) 731-3309.
