Officer Duties

President
The President shall:

  • Serve as Director and as lead trustee and presiding officer of the board and Executive Committee;
  • Set the agenda for meetings of the board, send meeting announcements to members and prospects;
  • Serve as spokeswoman for the chapter, liaison to the community;
  • Serve as an ex officio member of all committees;
  • Serve as a voting member and represent the chapter to NAWBO's Presidents Assembly; and
  • Appoint committees and chairs as deemed necessary.

President Elect
The President Elect shall:

  • Serve as a director;
  • Serve on NAWBO's Presidents Assembly and vote on the chapter president's behalf in her absence;
  • Review Bylaws and Chapter Policies with legal counsel;
  • Conduct Member and or Corporate Spotlights;
  • Oversee special projects and other duties as assigned by the president; and
  • Serve as president should the office of the president become vacant.

Immediate Past President
The Immediate Past President shall:

  • Serve as a director;
  • Chair the nominating committee;
  • Historian; and
  • Advisor to the President.

Treasurer
The Treasurer shall:

  • Serve as a director;
  • Oversee the financial activities and records of the chapter;
  • Provide up to date monthly financial statements to the board;
  • Ensure that the Federal Tax Form 990 is filed timely and submitted annually to NAWBO; and
  • Serve as chair of the Finance Committee.

Secretary
The Secretary shall:

  • Serve as a director;
  • Maintain all records; accurately record all actions of the board in minutes of each board meeting;
  • Send completed minutes to the board; and
  • Complete correspondence as requested by the President.

Director of Programs
The Director of Programs shall:

  • Serve as a director;
  • Develop meeting programs with relevant speakers to meet the chapter's needs;
  • Collect members evaluations following each meeting and review;
  • Determine changes needed based on evaluations and comments of members to continuously improve program delivery; and
  • Serve as chair to Program Committee.

Director of Corporate and Economic Development
The Director of Corporate and Economic Development shall:

  • Serve as a director;
  • Recruit Corporate Partners;
  • Develop Corporate recognition;
  • Serve as liaison to Corporate Partners; and
  • Serve as chair to Corporate and Economic Development Committee.

Director of Membership
The Director of Membership shall:

  • Serve as a director;
  • Coordinate recruitment of members, orientation and retention;
  • Manage the member and prospect data and the application process;
  • Assemble and distribute the membership packets, order name tags; and
  • Serve as chair of Membership Committee.

Director of Communications
The Director of Communications shall:

  • Serve as a director
  • Prepare, submit and oversee publicity of meetings and events of chapter;
  • Coordinate all information related to advertising, communicating on behalf of the chapter, board and its members;
  • Build awareness in the community of the chapter's purpose and activities; and
  • Serve as the chair of the Communications Committee

Hospitality Chair
The Hospitality Chair shall:

  • Serve as a liaison to the board in regard to all hospitality functions;
  • Coordinate and maintain the RSVP list to all meetings and events;
  • Coordinate details of meetings with representatives of the facility; and
  • Serve as the chair of the Hospitality Committee.
