NAWBO-NW Announces Outstanding Woman Business Entrepreneur $1,000 Scholarship Recipient


SPOKANE, Washington (June 8, 2010) – Inland Northwest Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners  (NAWBO-NW)  announces Chelsea Brown as the winner of the 2009-2010 Outstanding Woman Business Entrepreneur  $1,000. Scholarship.

Brown, one of the female entrepreneurs enrolled in the Integrated Business & Entrepreneurship Program at the Avista Center for Entrepreneurship,  is currently developing her existing business - Nightflier Entertainment - a multi-faceted entertainment agency and production company. Nightflier Entertainment will offer  a full-service event coordination; audio productions with a mobile, full service recording studio; as well as services to assist in the cultivation of talent including development and marketability strategies, talent booking, concert/event production and management and more.

Close runner up was Talia Anderson, also a student in the program. Anderson is planning to open Say What! 2nd Wear Clothing, a second hand clothing store carrying items for all ages and sizes, with an emphasis on plus size clothing. Both students are awarded a 1 year, fully paid membership in NAWBO which opens the door for numerous networking opportunities for young entrepreneurs. .

Spokane Community College students were incredibly excited about the scholarship opportunity and very grateful for the chance to apply.

For nearly 15 years, members of the Inland Northwest Chapter of NAWBO have worked to propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide.  The chapter hosts an ongoing Entrepreneurial Program Series designed to help women in business meet the challenges of starting, running and maintaining a business in today’s marketplace, and the Series is presented during NAWBO-NW monthly chapter meetings.
