Darrelle Volwiler, Becky Tiller

Recognized for work with Alzheimer's Association

Darrelle Volwiler of Darrelle M Volwiler, PH.D. and Becky Tiller of Tiller Care Strategies volunteer their time with the Alzheimer's  Association, leading support groups aiding those in early stage, and their families. Both were pictured on the cover of Alzheimer's Association Fall-Winter newsletter. Dr. Darrelle Volwiler is the psychologist leading the group for the family members, while  Becky Tiller, MA leads the Early Stage Group.

"The group for the individual with the dementia is designed to provide support to them in dealing with their grief, losses and frustrations", says Tiller. "We discuss how to cope with the anger and the fear. But we also talk about the “gifts” that the members have and how to not allow the diagnosis to dominate their lives."

Volwiler tells the Alzheimer's Association, "It is my honor and privilege to provide education and support to family members whose loved ones have been diagnosed with dementia. Each meeting members discuss what changes they see in their loved one, and strategies for effective coping are reviewed."

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. The Inland Northwest Chapter is one of over 70 Alzheimer's Association chapters serving communities across the United States.
