Bruttles Candy, Spokane's Special Story
SPOKANE, Washington (November 30, 2010) – Inland Northwest Chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-NW) to host Entrepreneurial Program Series with featured speaker Carol Measel, "Bruttles Candy, Spokane's Special Story," December 9, 2010, at The Lincoln Center in Spokane, WA.
The Bruttles' early success story is a perfect combination of nostalgia, brilliance, and luck. The ongoing success story is due to quality, definite perseverance and and faith in the possibilities. Join Carol Measel as she shares the magic and meaning that began with her aunt in Spokane’s historic Davenport Hotel.
Carol Measel grew up in Spokane, graduated from Spokane's Shadle Park High School, and earned an Associate of Arts in Accounting from Spokane Falls Community College, and a Bachelor of Education in Art and Math. Measel utilized her skills in medical facilities as a secretary, bookkeeper and office manager, including time at Hollister-Stier Laboratories for eight years as a lab technician. She has shown herself to be truly versatile, running her own computer and bookkeeping service for small businesses; starting her Bruttles Wholesale company in 1988, which she operated for four years; then later opening Bruttles in The Davenport in 2002.
For 15 years, members of the Inland Northwest Chapter of NAWBO have worked to propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide. The Entrepreneurial Program Series is designed to help women in business meet the challenges of starting, running and maintaining a business in today’s marketplace. The Entrepreneurial Series is presented during NAWBO-NW monthly chapter meetings.
